For example, Mr. Fixel has conducted jury trials in Bay, Collier, Gadsden, Hernando, Lake, Lee, Leon, Madison, Manatee, Orange, Pinellas, and Sarasota counties. In addition, Mr. Fixel has achieved favorable eminent domain settlements without the necessity of a jury trial in the aforementioned counties, as well as in nearly all other counties in the state of Florida (eg. William A. Fixel
Mr. Fixel’s practice concentrates on the representation of private property owners and businesses in eminent domain cases throughout the state of Florida. Mr. Fixel’s eminent domain legal experience includes both preventing improper takings from occurring and obtaining full compensation for property owners and businesses who are subjected to eminent domain acquisitions.
In his practice, Mr. Fixel has represented hundreds of clients, ranging from individual home owners to multi-billion dollar businesses who are subjected to potential eminent domain takings. Mr. Fixel has represented these property and business owners in eminent domain matters throughout state of Florida including in Bay, Brevard, Calhoun, Citrus, Columbia, Dade, Duval, Escambia, Gadsden, Jefferson, Lake, Leon, Marion, Okaloosa, Pasco, Putnam, Santa Rosa, Sumter, St. John’s, Wakulla, Walton and Washington Counties.
J. Stanley Chapman
Mr. Chapman began his legal career at Ervin, Varn, Jacobs, Odom & Kitchen, in 1987, a/k/a Ervin, Kitchen, Chapman & Ervin, after serving as a Law Clerk for the Florida Department of Transportation’s Chief of Eminent Domain while in law school. Mr. Chapman practiced with the Ervin firm for 19 years concentrating in eminent domain and other civil and administrative trial practice and appeals. In 2006, he joined Miami-based Equels Law Firm, as a Litigation Director for the Tallahassee office of the firm, and continued to handle a variety of complex civil litigation and eminent domain cases at the trial and appellate level.
Mr. Chapman joined the Fixel Law Firm as a partner in 2018 to focus his practice in eminent domain, including inverse condemnation trials and appeals. He has represented numerous property and business owners in significant eminent domain cases over his 30 years in practice.
