The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) is studying future capacity and safety issues on South Blue Angel Parkway including widening the road, the addition of sidewalks and the construction of accompanying storm water ponds from SR 292/Sorrento Road to SR 30 (US 98) in Pensacola, FL.
As an initial step in the contemplation of this project, FDOT recently developed and released updated right-of-way maps. These maps indicate FDOT plans to acquire 18 parcels of Escambia County property, and to acquire this property FDOT has budgeted $5,000,000 in right-of-way acquisition funds for fiscal year 2021, which begins in July of 2020.
The Fixel Law Firm – a Florida law firm that represents private property owners in eminent domain matters – has received the FDOT’s updated right-of-way maps and has carefully reviewed them for its affected clients. If you own Escambia County property that may be acquired as part of the South Blue Angel Parkway project and you have any questions or concerns about the FDOT’s potential taking of your property or Florida eminent domain law, please contact The Fixel Law Firm’s firm administrator, Susie Harris, by email at sharris@fixelwillis.com or by telephone, toll free at (800) 848-7535.
