As recently described by President Barack Obama, the Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) plans to replace the Pensacola Bay Bridge in the coming years. As an initial step to study the project, the FDOT recently completed and released an updated environmental study and preferred alignment for this bridge replacement project.
The preferred alignment indicates that the FDOT plans to acquire (by eminent domain, if necessary) seven parcels of property, and to do so, the FDOT has budgeted over $7.5 million in right-of-way acquisition funds for this project in fiscal years 2015 and 2016.
Fixel & Willis, a Florida law firm that represents private property owners in eminent domain matters, has obtained the FDOT’s recently released environmental studies and preferred alignment and lawyers and staff within the firm have studied them. If you own property that may be acquired as part of Pensacola Bay Bridge replacement project and you have any questions or concerns about the FDOT’s potential taking of your property or Florida eminent domain law, please contact Fixel & Willis’s firm administrator, Susie Harris, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone, toll free at (800) 848-7535.
