The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) is currently working on revising its project documents to widen State Road 77 through the Town of Wassau as part of the State Road 77 widening project.
FDOT has budgeted over $2.8 million dollars in the current fiscal year to prepare the design documents (construction plans and right-of-way maps). This alignment indicates that the FDOT plans to acquire (by eminent domain, if necessary) 48 parcels of Washington County property, including the construction of six storm water holding ponds, and to do so, the FDOT has budgeted over $6.7 million dollars in fiscal years 2018-2020.
Representatives of Fixel & Willis – a Florida law firm that represents private property owners in eminent domain matters – will secure project materials as soon as they become available. If you own Washington County property that may be acquired as part of the State Road 77 widening project through the Town of Wassau and you have any questions or concerns about the FDOT’s potential taking of your property or Florida eminent domain law, please contact Fixel & Willis’s firm administrator, Susie Musgrove Harris, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone, toll free at (800) 848-7535.
