The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) plans to widen State Road 77 in Washington County.  As an initial step toward the completion of this project, the FDOT recently released new construction plans for two segments of this road widening project — the segment that begins at the Wasau city limits and ends at Clayton Road and the segment that begins north of County Road 279 and ends north of the Sunny Hills entrance.

These construction plans indicate that the FDOT plans to acquire (by eminent domain, if needed) 95 parcels of Washington County property, and to do so, the FDOT has budgeted over $9 million for the fiscal years 2014-2017.
