The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) plans to widen State Road 390 in Panama City. As an initial step in the progress of this project, the FDOT recently released new, 90% construction plans for one of the three segments of this project (the segment that runs from east of Baldwin Road to Jenks Avenue). These construction plans indicate that the FDOT anticipates acquiring (by eminent domain, if necessary) 53 parcels of Panama City property and to acquire this property, the FDOT has budgeted $12.4 million in right-of-way acquisition funds for the fiscal years 2014-2017.
Fixel & Willis, a Florida law firm that represents private property owners in eminent domain matters, has obtained the FDOT’s recently released construction plans and has studied them for its affected clientele. If you own Panama City property that may be acquired as part of the State Road 390 widening project and you have any questions or concerns about the FDOT’s potential taking of your property or Florida eminent domain law, please contact Fixel & Willis’s firm administrator, Susie Harris, by email at email@example.com or by telephone, toll free at (800) 848-7535.
