The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) plans to resurface U.S. 90 from Edison Drive to Lynch Street in Escambia County. To complete this project, the FDOT’s contract engineers recently developed and released updated construction plans. These updated construction plans depict that the FDOT anticipates acquiring (by eminent domain, if needed) seven parcels of Escambia County property, and to do so the FDOT has budgeted $640,000 in right-of-way acquisition money for the fiscal year 2016.
Fixel & Willis, a Florida law firm that represents private property owners in eminent domain matters, has obtained the FDOT’s recently released construction plans and has studied them. If you own Escambia County property that may be acquired as part of the U.S. 90 resurfacing project and you have any questions or concerns about the FDOT’s potential taking of your property or Florida eminent domain law, please contact Fixel & Willis’s firm administrator, Susie Harris, by email at email@example.com or by telephone, toll free at (800) 848-7535.
