The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) recently released initial construction plans for the modification of ramps for I-10 at State Road 200/U.S. 301 in Jacksonville. The FDOT’s initial construction plans indicate that the FDOT plans to acquire (by eminent domain, if necessary) 14 parcels of Jacksonville property to complete the project, and to do so, the FDOT has budgeted over $8 million in right-of-way acquisition funds for the fiscal years 2014 and 2015.
Fixel & Willis, a Florida law firm that represents property owners faced with the potential acquisition of property via eminent domain, has obtained the FDOT’s recently released construction plans and has studied them.
