The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) plans to widen US 319 in Wakulla County. As a step toward the completion of this project, the FDOT recently released the initial construction plans for the segment of this road widening project that begins south of East Ivan Road and ends south of downtown Crawfordville at Lost Creek Bridge.
These construction plans indicate that the FDOT plans to acquire (by eminent domain, if needed) approximately 195 parcels of Wakulla County property to complete this segment of the US 319 road widening project, and to do so, the FDOT has budgeted over $3.8 million to design the project in the current fiscal year.
Fixel & Willis – a Florida law firm that represents private property owners in eminent domain matters – has received the FDOT’s initial construction plans and has carefully reviewed them for its affected clients. If you own Wakulla County property that may be acquired as part of the US 319 widening project and you have any questions or concerns about the FDOT’s potential taking of your property or Florida eminent domain law, please contact Fixel & Willis’s firm administrator, Susie Musgrove Harris, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone, toll free at (800) 848-7535.
