The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) plans to widen U.S. 319 from East Ivan Road to the Leon County line in Wakulla County. As an initial step in the life of this project, the FDOT’s contract engineers finalized and recently released construction plans that depict the extent and nature of proposed property taking connected to this project.
The FDOT’s recently released construction plans indicate that the FDOT plans to acquire (by eminent domain, if necessary) 107 parcels of Wakulla County property, and to acquire this property the FDOT has budgeted approximately $13 million in property acquisition funds in the fiscal years 2016-2019.
Fixel & Willis, a Florida law firm that represents private property owners in eminent domain matters, has obtained the FDOT’s recently released construction plans and has studied them for its affected clientele. If you own Wakulla County property that may be acquired as part of the U.S. 319 expansion project and you have any questions or concerns about the FDOT’s potential taking of your property or Florida eminent domain law, please contact Fixel & Willis’s firm administrator, Susie Harris, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone, toll free at (800) 848-7535.
