The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) plans to widen U.S. 319 from East Ivan Road to the Leon County line in Wakulla County.  As an initial step in the life of this project, the FDOT’s contract engineers finalized and recently released construction plans that depict the extent and nature of proposed property taking connected to this project.

The FDOT’s recently released construction plans indicate that the FDOT plans to acquire (by eminent domain, if necessary) 107 parcels of Wakulla County property, and to acquire this property the FDOT has budgeted approximately $13 million in property acquisition funds in the fiscal years 2016-2019.
