The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) plans to add turn lanes to State Road 296/Bayou Boulevard in Escambia County. As an initial step for this project, the FDOT’s contract engineers recently developed and released new construction plans. The FDOT’s construction plans indicate that the FDOT plans to acquire (by eminent domain, if necessary) three parcels of Escambia County property to complete the project, and to do so, the FDOT has budgeted over $125,000 in right-of-way acquisition funds for the fiscal year 2015.
Fixel & Willis – a Florida law firm that represents private property owners in eminent domain matters – has received the FDOT’s construction plans and has carefully reviewed them. If you own Escambia County property that may be acquired as part of the State Road 296/Bayou Boulevard turn lane project and you have any questions or concerns about the FDOT’s potential taking of your property or Florida eminent domain law, please contact Fixel & Willis’s firm administrator, Susie Harris, by email at email@example.com or by telephone, toll free at (800) 848-7535.
